So many things had happened to me in my digiscrapbook life. I am a newbie, depends on how you look at it. Well, i just started selling my products a month ago. I started playing with photoshop 11 months back and gave away my stuff as freebies in my previous blog not long after that. I enjoyed it so much. And then, I bought a blog shop. Prepared my self to seriously selling my stuffs. I have an artist soul in my heart, so this is really not for money sake. But, the greatest appreciations would i get is when i know that ones are willing to spend their money on my designs. That simple. When you give away freebies, people’d come and grab them. And say ‘thank you’ and that you are doing a great job. None will say that your free element is jagged, or your free paper is pixelated. Because they can easily throw them away if they don’t like it. It’s free, they ‘have no right’ to complaint and most likely they are not willing to do it. That’s what we believe in general, i guess.
But, selling in the blog shop and being a single fighter didn’t satisfy me. I need to know how to work in team. I want to get better. I want to design better. I want to get a honest constructive critics. Basically, i always want to be a better person everyday. Have a quality life, spend a quality time, that kind of things. That’s when i decided to join a pro shop. So i can meet other senior designers and learn from them.
So, i started to apply to many shops eagerly. Just like a graduated student who has a certificate in hand with zero experience. First shop that hired me was Ahhhscrap. And then Sweet Scrappin Design. And Scrappin Out Loud. And Sweet N Sassy Designs. And My Scrap Shop. And the latest was Designs by J3. I didn’t know that almost all would accept me. I took them all. I was not really sure what i was doing. Greedy? maybe. Crazy? Certainly!
So the hectic moment started. I had to go to too many Forums and Galleries everyday. I also had to design requested kit, or QP or brag book and freebies. There’s nothing wrong in doing it. But the only great problem is i was in too many shops. Imagine when every shops demand the same things. I was overwhelmed.
I was no longer able to chit chat with my gossip partners on phone. I was no longer able to read my novels and comics (2 brand new novels are waiting on the table). I was not able to play my favourite PC games (sims city, AOE 3 and other online games). I was no longer able to sleep on time and get up early, my time schedule is messed up. I was no longer able to spend more time in my shabby kitchen to try a new recipe and cry when it failed and blame it to the recipe book and end it up by ordering pizza. I was no longer able to take my children to the beach. It’s only 5 minutes by walk from our house, for God sake!
And to make it worse, i didn’t even have enough time to design. I did design. But by request. I was no longer enjoy it like i used to be. I was ruined. I was torn apart.
I told you i have an artist soul within me. If you know how an artists feel and live their life, you will notice that what is called a great pleasure for an artists is when they can create a master piece peacefully. They enjoy to be lost in their own world. Forget about the world. To gather everything that interest them in real life and put it together in one piece called art. Much of my stuffs that i called master pieces are designed spontaneous.
I am no business person. I don’t have much interest in that field. I just love to design. So, i guess it explains why i have only 3 blinkies on ‘My shoppe’ section in the side bar. I have done the most difficult thing in my designing history. I resigned from 3 shops. I said it’s difficult because i had to choose. All of the shop owners are sooo nice and sweet. I really had a hard time to chose. But, like one of my designer friend said. This is nothing special. It happens everyday in this particular world. Owner of the shop left. New owner comes. One designer left. Hundred new designers come. Life goes on. Do your best. Keep up the good relationship with everybody.
Let the reason behind why-i-chose-this-shop-and-not-that-one remain my own secret. Nothing personal. I just needed to do what i have to do. Life goes on. Hopefully now i can perform a better me.

It’s time for the new ADSD monthly collab. Everybody’s so happy with the last month collaboration. The designers and the downloaders (is that the word?). This month we do it again!
I got more than 1000 downloads for last month contribution. Thanks to everbody who liked to spend few minutes to give comments in the blog and in the 4shared. I read all and i appreciate it.
I always want to make something different for the collab. Something that other designers might not think of. But due to some problems in my part, i ended up by making something very simple. An alpha. And i just made it last night… Since, it’s still hectic here, i only uploaded the upper case this week. Do come back next week to get the lower case and maybe some frames.

Oh my, that’s surely not me, lol… I just forgot to update for 2 weeks only, not 2 months.
I have some great news, three actually.
O well, the first great news is… i got a servant! woo hoo… a young indian girl who does all the cleaning and dusting. She doesn’t speak english, though, but that’s okay, i need someone to clean up the house not a friend to chit chat with.
We asians are so spoiled with servant, i know. I don’t have any friend here who has no servant. Their salary are affordable, that’s why. Somewhere between US$ 10 to 100. Fantastic, eh? I told my servant her jobdesk, and i asked her how much she ask. My DH helped us by translating. She said she wanted 500 ruppees, which is $10 in US dollar. But, she said, if i want her to clean the bathroom plus toilet, she asked for 2 dollars more. woo hoo.
That’s the cheapest you can get ofcourse. And they give us that number since we are (i mean me) foreigner. From Indian employers they get their salary even cheaper. For $10, they will come everyday, 2 days off a month (they will choose the day) and about 1 hour work perday. Some home-stayed servant will cost us 2500 ruppees or around US $50. Last year i got a friend who hired one english speaking servant. That costed her around US $100 a month. A very nice-clean-sweet-polite servant. wow.
I don’t need 24/7 servant. I am kind of person who feel uneasy with a all day present of stranger in my house. I still love to go anywhere indoor with my underwear, lol. So, this one hour $12 - servant is more than enough for me!
Still there? lol. Now is for the 2nd great news.
That i just got a space in another shops. I don’t know why i was so greedy crazy sending some applications. Whenever i saw the ads for designer calls, i would apply.

I have so many ideas in my mind for new kits but found it very difficult to get the time to sit in front of my lappy. My husband just came back from hospital. Nothing serious, he’d got malaria. Now he’s at home and getting better. But i feel like i have 3 babies! The biggest one is the most demanding… *sigh*. But that’s okay, i guess, because i know i could be worse when i was sick, and he was the greatest nurse i could ever get
I created this kit whenever my honey bear’s sleeping, so i finished it in 3 days. I think i could be faster if only i had a servant, a cook, a baby sitter for my children, and an assistent to make the preview for my kit *grin*

Hi there, welcome to my scrap blog.
My name is utski, a 32 years old SAHM to 2 children, Echa and Ray. I am living in beautiful small French Town in India, called Pondicherry. Our home is only 5 minutes by walk to the beach.
I started playing in the digital scrapbooking wonderland about 8 months back. Before that i was happy with traditional scrapbooking. I use Photoshop 7 and am saving the money to get my self the latest version. I love to make my hand dirty in Photoshop, and feel that i’d never get enough.
In day time i am quite busy taking care of my children, plus the house work. In spare time, i am trying to finish my online course and doing some home-business. And weekends are the only time my husband get the time together with the family. So, night-owl scrapper i am :p
